Management  

Hugh G. Ross, B.A.
Director, President and Chief Executive Officer

A director of Gentry since December 1988, Mr. Ross earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1980 from the University of Calgary and joined Gentry's predecessor company shortly after graduation. His extensive knowledge of the industry has been acquired over 20 years of practical involvement and became President and Chief Executive Officer in 1990.

R. Gordon McKay, B.E.S.
Vice President, Exploration and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. McKay holds a degree from the University of Waterloo, as well as memberships in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. Prior to joining Gentry in 1993, Mr. McKay served as a geophysicist with a seismic processing firm, then as a senior geophysicist with Petro-Canada Inc. He was appointed Vice President in 1996 and Chief Operating Officer in 2000.

Ketan Panchmatia, B.Mgt., C.M.A.
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Panchmatia obtained his Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge in 1988 and joined the national accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, Chartered Accountants before becoming Controller of Gentry Resources in 1990. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed to the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the Company. He earned his C.M.A. designation in 1992 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 1995.

Ken Wilson, P.Eng.
Vice-President, Operations and Production

Mr. Wilson joined the Company in 2004. Prior to his position with Gentry, Mr. Wilson has held engineering roles in senior, junior and intermediate oil and gas exploration companies. Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of British Columbia and is a member of APEGGA.

Greg Groten, P.Geoph.

Vice-President, Exploration

Mr. Groten joined Gentry in 2003 as a Senior Geophysicist and has held geophysical roles at junior, intermediate and senior oil and gas exploration companies. Mr. Groten holds a B. Sc. with specialization in Geophysics from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta and was appointed Vice-President, Exploration in May 2007. 

Harley Kempthorne, P.Eng.
Vice-President, Engineering

Mr. Kempthorne joined Gentry in December 2006 from a major oil and gas exploration company. He brings extensive industry experience in reservoir development and acquisitions. Mr. Kempthorne holds a Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Carleton University and an MBA from the University of Calgary.

Larry Buzan, B.Comm., P.Land
Vice-President, Land & Negotiations

Mr Buzan. joined Gentry in March of 2005 from a major oil and gas exploration company. With 24 years as a Landmand for several majors, he has extensive experience in negotiations and business strategy. He was instrumental in successfully negotiating several high profile projects in the Mackenzie Delta. Mr. Buzan holds a B.Comm. from the University of Calgary and is an active member and volunteer with CAPL.
